Advocacy

Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue

TSA established and hosts the influential forum, the Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue: a non-partisan, community initiative designed to engage Australia in a productive discussion about Greater Western Sydney.

In delivering a program that represents a broad cross-section of the region, the Dialogue collaborates with local institutions, the Western Sydney Business Chamber, Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC), Western Sydney Community Forum, Western Sydney University (WSU) and the Committee for Sydney.

Its key aim is to provide and encourage interaction between key influencers and opinion leaders in the region, and drive the Western Sydney agenda through analysis and advocacy.

To help open up the conversation on public policy reform, and advocate for the sustainable development of one of the fastest growing regions in the nation, the WSLD will host a number of events throughout the year. This includes monthly VIP Boardrooom Dinners and the annual Out There and Boomtown! Infrastructure Summits.

Patrons include: The Hon Nick Greiner AC, Mr Cameron Clyne, Hon Craig Knowles AM, Dr Kerry Schott AO, and Prof Peter Shergold AC.

Engagement

The Bradfield Partnership

The Bradfield Partnership was conceived by Taylor Street Advisory and managed by News Ltd to honour one of Sydney’s forgotten heroes, ‘JJ Bradfield’ - chief engineer of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and our underground railway network.

Featuring the inaugural Bradfield Oration, a major speech by Prime Minister Abbott in Nov 2014 in front of the city’s leading citizens, the Sydney Honour Roll celebrating past visionaries and the Lendlease Bradfield Scholarship at Sydney University’s School of Engineering, the program promotes sustainable development, good public policy, academic excellence and civil service best practice.

Engagement

The Sydney Roundtable

The Sydney Roundtable is a joint initiative of AccorHotels and Taylor Street Advisory (TSA), in partnership with the Committee for Sydney and Sydney Airport.

The initiative is designed to bring together a cohort of big thinkers to discuss issues affecting our global city. In an era of increasing cynicism about politics and disengagement with public policy, we are curating a series of events and hosting a range of guests to bring new ideas to big issues that present challenges and opportunities to the Emerald City.

The Sydney Roundtable features a community of 25 hand-picked thought-leaders for a series of in-depth discussions on issues impacting Sydney, seeking a provocative debate and a diverse range of views – so do not have traditional guest speakers, instead we will ask a couple of experts to act as stimulating discussion leaders at each event.

Strategy

The Committee for Liverpool

Taylor Street Advisory has brought together a influential group of decision makers and community leaders to advise the Mayor of Liverpool on economic, social, governance, infrastructure and amenity issues.

The Committee for Liverpool, chaired by former Mayor, Ned Mannoun and convened by TSA’s Christopher Brown, the Committee is the most powerful group ever assembled to promote Liverpool, one of Governor Lachlan Macquarie’s original ‘River Cities’ and now the capital of the Great South West region. TSA’s role was to conceive the group, recruit its high profile members, curate a program of work and manage its meetings.

Advocacy

The WestLine Partnership

Taylor Street Advisory was commissioned to manage the WestLine Partnership - with the aim of helping fast-track the delivery of a light rail route along Sydney’s Olympic Corridor. The Partnership group, which comprises of some of Sydney’s leaders in business, government, sport and property, believes that this ‘missing link’ will not only improve accessibility along the Olympic Corridor, but importantly, support and drive future employment and residential growth.
